Reforestation day in Cinkassé (Togo)

On Arbor and Education Day, which is celebrated every year on 1 June in Togo, Scanning Systems launched its reforestation campaign in the Cinkassé district.

This campaign, which involved the acquisition of 2,700 plants, will take place over a one-month period and is aimed at regreening five previously identified sites.

To launch this campaign, 200 shrubs were planted in the courtyard of the Cinkassé prefecture.

Several highly motivated public figures took an active part, amongst which:

Mr. Yanani, the new Prefect of Cinkassé, and his staff

The local representatives of the Ministry of the Environment

Local officials from the National Education Department

Agents of the security forces and border post agencies ( army, military police, police, customs)

Young volunteers’ unions in Cinkassé.

A planting schedule was drawn up by the environmental services and entrusted to the local community organisations so that all the remaining seedlings could be planted in the other four sites by 1 July at the latest.

The new prefect expressed his sincere appreciation to Scanning Systems for its support in all the environmental preservation activities in the area.
