JOINT BORDER POSTS

To strengthen and improve the flow of goods and people in the West African sub-region, the West African Economic and Monetary Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have agreed on the implementation of the West African Regional Transport and Transit Facilitation Project. The Joint Border Posts or JBP’s which are 11 in total - form a major component of this project, with the realization of two Priority Pilot Posts, including Cinkansé.

BANJUL PORT AND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Financing the installation and then operating scanning equipment at these two sites was one of the first projects carried out by Scanning Systems under a Public Private Partnership.A BOT agreement was signed with the Gambian government in 2004 to install a high-intensity scanner at the Port and two baggage scanners at Banjul Airport.
